What is Gift Aid?

Who is Eligible to Use Gift Aid?

To qualify for Gift Aid, you must:

✅ Be a UK taxpayer

✅ Have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax that is at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid that all charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) will claim on your donations in the current tax year. (Other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify).

If you meet these criteria, you can boost your donation to Topic of Cancer by 25% at no extra cost. It’s a simple way to make a bigger impact with your generosity.

Who Isn’t Eligible?

Unfortunately, not everyone can claim Gift Aid. You won’t be eligible if:

❌You don’t pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax.

❌ The amount of tax you pay is less than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in the tax year.

❌ You are donating on behalf of someone else, a group, or from a company account (Gift Aid only applies to personal donations).

How to Apply Gift Aid to Your Donation

When you make a donation to Topic of Cancer, simply tick the box that says you want to add Gift Aid if you’re making a donation online or alternatively, please download the form at the bottom of the page. You’ll need to provide your name and address so we can claim the Gift Aid from HMRC.

Every penny counts in our mission to fight cancer. By adding Gift Aid, you’re helping us do even more. Thank you for your support!
