Charity recipient of Waitrose Green Token Scheme award for December

Topic of Cancer was very fortunate to be selected by the Waitrose store in Guildford to be included in their Green Token Scheme for December.

Shoppers were invited to choose between three local charities by dropping their tokens into the appointed tubs and the Waitrose Community Fund would be distributed accordingly. Nigel Lewis-Baker, as Chairman, was delighted to represent our charity to receive their cheque for £330.00 and have the time to talk to Emily Cartwright, the Community Activities Coordinator about our challenges and achievements. We hope other stores might take up the same opportunity to donate to us and help raise awareness.

Also this morning Nigel was given airtime on BBC Surrey and BBC Sussex to appeal for a leader and community funding for our new ToC Voices choir in Guildford.
