Consultant Physician in Medical Oncology and Senior Lecturer and the University of Surrey
An oncology consultant treating ovarian, prostate and kidney cancer at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Dr Michael is a principal investigator on The SUN study as well as several clinical trials looking into new treatments for cancer. The SUN study is a large bio repository of prostate cancer patient samples, mainly blood and DNA which will allow the discovery of novel cancer biomarkers from through methods such as proteomics.
Dr Michael is a clinician specialising in ovarian, prostate and breast cancer. She studied Medicine in Warsaw and then moved to Britain to complete several years training at several hospitals including The Royal Marsden in London. She oversees the Sun Study which is a biobank of patient samples; a valuable research resource available to external researchers as well as those at The University of Surrey. Dr Michael also supervises several PhD students working on the role that EN2 plays in ovarian cancer.
