Welcome to the first issue of our formal newsletter which is to be issued bi-monthly to keep you abreast of developments within Topic of Cancer, particularly important at this time when we cannot meet face to face.
There have been several changes in the Board of Trustees in the last year so we thought it might be helpful to describe the current team. As there are only a few of us and we all live locally to Guildford we should like to encourage you to get to know us.
“University of Surrey researchers said the virus could “help revolutionise treatment” for the cancer and reduce the risk of it recurring.”
Topic of Cancer’s Yvonne Hall and Nigel Lewis-Baker interview Professor Hardev Pandha, Professor of Medical Oncology and head of the cancer research programme at Surrey University.
The ToC Voices choir auditioned 4 possible leaders at rehearsal last night (Monday, 30th April) and voted unanimously for Emily Bollon. As you will see from this link, Emily has a special link to Guildford and Surrey Uni and is very qualified to take us forward.
Life has been a bit hectic here with a trip to Buckingham Palace at the invitation of HRH The Prince of Wales for a Macmillan Reception.
Last night we were at the Hippodrome, Leicester Square for a brilliant evening with Colin Roy and his salute to Nat King Cole. It was well worth the effort and money as we had a great time, plus he introduced me and talked about ToC, so I had several chats with audience members afterwards. Patrons Michael Elwyn and Alison Steadman joined us there as well as Norman and Terri Davidson, our Ambassadors in Kent.
